The Road to Success is Right Here

He is our personal Guide and Teacher in this life. If God puts a call on your life, but you do not follow His specific instructions and leadings on how to get there, then you will never succeed.


Today is the first day of the year and I'm reminded of the tremendous challenges that we Christians face. I am encouraged after having read about the story of Joshua. You can read it right here.


So we all know the story about how Moses defeated the Egyptians and freed God's people so they could enter into the Promised Land. However not many of us think too much about what happened afterward. Basically Moses couldn't effectively lead God's people there because the people had so much fear. So God made them trudge about in the wilderness for 40 years as a test and to purify them.


So then God let it be up to Joshua and Caleb to lead the people to the promised land after the 40 years. It was fear which resulted from a lack of faith that cost them that 40 years. God made sure that all the people of little faith died out and that only those with pure faith were allowed to reach the Promised Land.


We can apply this story to our lives in many ways. But specifically I think in today's tumultuous time we Christian's can focus on three lessons to help us fulfill our promise and complete our journey.


  • First. Jesus came and died on the cross so that we might live and fulfill our promise with complete confidence and without fear. He cleared the way, having died and risen after three days for the forgiveness of sin. But we must choose to give our lives completely to him, we must accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. He is calling you by name right now and is telling you to fear not!


  • Second. For many of us we find that we have lived the first part of our life as if wandering in the wilderness. At the point that we are really and truly born again our lives take on new meaning and head toward a new direction. All the time we spend leading up to that point is like wandering in the wilderness. The Lord was preparing us for the great task he has for us.


  • Third. When we move forward boldly and in complete faith God will provide everything we need to overcome every obstacle. It is from the Holy Spirit that he pours out supernatural power and gifts that allows us to move confidently to victory. We will not only see clearly what the great calling is, but we will be able to effortlessly identify with what gifts He has bestowed upon us and exactly how to use them. With Jesus at the wheel you won't have to force anything. It will happen as if it was always meant to be, because it was!



I believe this is a time that God is calling you to fulfill your great mission in life. Your great purpose is right in front of you. Right now. All you need is to let Jesus lead you and anything and everything is possible!
