Jesus is Love
Why we feel so alone, even in the midst of celebration…

It happens every February. Our attention turns toward Valentine's Day and the loved ones in our lives. We think of flowers and candy and romantic love and Cupid and all the things and images that bring us longing and desire for that one special love.
We have tried to create the perfect impression of the perfect marriage and the perfect family. Hearts and smiles and pretty faces. But for many of us underneath that facade is a cold emptiness and pain that is hard to endure. We think about our regrets and how we can fix the mistakes that we've made all the while trying to carry on as though nothing were wrong whatsoever.
This is why so many of us feel so alone, even in the midst of celebration.
But Jesus knows our pain and he knows the only way to get rid of it was to sacrifice HIs life. And so he did. So He loved us so much that He, even though we are and still and will always be in sin, gave His life so that we may have life eternal. That is perfect love. Agape love. The type of love that only He, the Son of God, could give.
This is the message of the good news. This is the message of the Gospel. But many people ask what does this have to do with me? How can this good news take away the loneliness and emptiness that I feel deep inside? The answer is simple. Follow his example. There is no blessing where there is no sacrifice. You must learn to sacrifice so that you may partake in the the blessings He offers. How and what those sacrifices are is between you and Him.
For some it may be staying right where you are, even though you feel frustrated and unfulfilled, because your sacrifice is that you should be a blessing for those around you. For others it may be making a sacrifice for a season while waiting on the right time to move forward in Peace and Freedom.
Whatever it is, whatever the situation in your life, just remember that whatever sacrifice and whatever pain you experience is not endured alone. So reach out to Him right now and ask Him help you and He will. Ask Him to forgive you and He will. Ask Him to give you strength and He will give you strength.
Right now, just say Lord Jesus, I'm a sinner, I believe that you came and died on the cross for me so that I can live life eternal, I accept you right now as my Lord and Savior and I thank You and I receive the blessings that You have in store for me both now and in the eternal, in Jesus name AMEN!
Now if you prayed that prayer you now have the green light to give and receive His love in a way that no earthly love can offer and this, in turn, will bring you the peace and joy you so desperately long for and need. Welcome aboard the love train!
