Ezra and Nehemiah
Ezra and Nehemiah were an interesting couple of guys in the old testament. Basically Nehemiah came on the scene to rebuild the wall at Jerusalem after Gods people had been on a long bad decline (not unlike now). So anyway GOD was in charge of the whole deal and told Ezra the prophet to get together all the leaders and rebuild the wall. Well it so happened that GOD brought along Nehemiah who was really in charge of all the business aspects of organizing and rebuilding the wall. All Ezra had to worry about was prophesying and preaching. Nehemiah even was in charge of the dedications to the temple and organizing the subsequent services, even including the musicians.
SO Josh, if you see this, I AM your Nehemiah. Together we can do GODs work in rebuilding HIS temple. We have a good start at Imagine Church, but if you look at Nehemiah in the Book, Nehemiah was really smart because what he did was organize all the leaders and built the organization from the top down. His smart part was just following the Word GOD gave Ezra about getting all the leaders together. There was a hierarchy and Ezra and Nehemiah were basically co-leaders who followed GODs word to the letter, as best they could. That was a winning combination for GOD’s people way back then and it would be even today. But concepts have to be put into practice and truths have to be adhered to in order for His plan for all of us to work.
I have started involving leaders with the personage of Rockdale County Commissioner JaNice VanNess and I actually know many civic and business leaders in the community and I’m more than confident that I can do for GOD’s people things in similar ways with similar results as did Nehemiah way back then.
I want with all my heart to be part of founding Imagine Church. But understand that the notion of founding a church is something that has been on my heart for over fifteen years. I’ve worked in most aspects of ministry and am well read and studied up particularly in the Bible itself. What I’m trying to say is that I want to be the Nehemiah for Imagine Church. With all my heart, I want to help “rebuild the wall” and minister to GOD’s people at Imagine Church.
I also am a successful businessman. For real. Which means that for whatever reason I can figure out how to create jobs for 30 people and support my family well. The jobs I create help minister to people and almost all of them would become involved if I decided to let that happen.
But I believe that Imagine Church really needs a Nehemiah. Really.
Please pray with me as we prepare our hearts for the meeting coming soon. I know things are going to be great!
With My Warmest and Most Faithful Regards,
Doug Hauptman
