Today I saw a post in my Google Buzz account that simply said “Iran Will Destroy USA”. I won’t reveal the identity of the person who wrote this but it got me thinking so I wrote back. I then thought about this and what I wrote and I wanted to share it with you. I am looking for feedback on this. Don’t be afraid, and don’t be shy. Well here it goes. Follows what I wrote back to this person.

Why will Iran destroy the USA? Really? Do you know that most people in the USA like Iran and don’t want any trouble with Iran? You are not a very realistic person I think.

Brother, please stop spreading hate and fear and anger to people. I don’t even know who you are and I can tell you that even though I don’t like the things you say I STILL love you because you are a child of God.

I am a Christian and I can honestly say that as Jesus gave his life to prove His love for everyone so I too would give my life to show my love for everyone if it would mean that I could convince people like you who hate to love instead. I mean if my death would convince you and others like you to love rather than hate I would give my life for such a purpose.

This is how a good Christian thinks. He thinks to love, not to hate. How do you want to be as a person? To love, or to hate? I think you would want to love. How do you want your children to be? Wouldn’t you rather they have and give love? Of course you would!

Did you know that Jesus was an Arab Jew? That he was a very dark skinned man and not a white man. I know this. I know this and I follow Jesus even though I know he was not a white person like me. I don’t care what color his skin was. He is my Lord and my Teacher. He teaches me to love and not to hate. Love only matters.

I know you are probably angry at me now, although I wish you would not be angry. I do not want you to be angry at me and I do not want you to want to hurt me or my family. But I am writing you these words of love because I want you to know that most Americans from the US are not hateful people. Yes there are some hateful people here. But not too many. Most people here are not hateful!

So just know that I have love as a brother for you. If you were at my front door and needed help I would help you. If you were across the street and needed food I would share my food with you. If you were across the town I live and needed clothes I would give clothes to you. If you had a pain in your heart I would embrace you like my brother and tell you that everything will be fine.

I would do this and these things even if I knew for sure you hated me and wanted to kill me. This is what Jesus has taught me. He has taught me to love my neighbor regardless of how my neighbor treats me or feels about me. Even if my neighbor wishes me harm I will show him love. I will still love you just the same. This is what it means to be a Christian.

You see I do not like what the leaders of my country have done to make people hate the USA. All my friends also feel the same way. Most people here in the USA do not want our government to drop bombs and engage in endless fighting. Maybe someday we will take care of this problem. But our way is by our constitution, our way of politics. It may not be perfect, but I believe that someday we will elect politicians that will lead the USA to stop fighting and love people the way the USA should.

What I am trying to communicate is that you should not hate the people of the USA for the wrong things that the leaders of the USA have done. It has not always been like this. The USA was there to rescue the world from tyranny and death in both World War I and World War II. It is true and you know this is true.

But somehow the leaders of the USA have lost the way of truth and righteousness. Now the USA often fights for the wrong reason and the wrong way. It will not always remain like this. The people of the USA know this and are trying hard to elect leaders who will stop the wars and do more to love and help when we are called upon to help.

The USA is a great nation with a great constitution and great people and I believe someday soon the leadership will be great as well and lead the USA back to being a nation that loves and helps the world when it is asked to help.
